Agile Richmond Board Members
President: Joan Gammon, PMP, CSM
Joan has over 12 years of project management experience in delivering web applications. She is currently a Portfolio/Program Manager at CarMax running programs that use variations of Lean, Agile, and waterfall methods. As President of the Board, Joan works to ensure Agile Richmond is providing the local community regular opportunities to discuss Agile topics, share knowledge and best practices, interact with industry experts, and grow in Agile expertise.
Secretary: Keith Mangum
Keith is a Project Manager and Managing Consultant with Apex Systems. Keith has over 15 years of project management experience and has worked in Agile environments since 2005. As the Board Secretary, Keith keeps the Agile Richmond Board members focused on being champions for Agile practices in the Greater Richmond Area.
Director of Events: Stacy Seltzer, PMP
Stacy has over 8 years of experience in both traditional and Agile project delivery methods and continues to expand her knowledge of Agile. As Director of Events, she identifies members of the Agile community who are willing to share their views and expertise at our regularly scheduled meetings and learning opportunities.
Treasurer: Karla Escalante, CISA, PMP
Karla has over 8 years of experience working in IT. In her recent project management experience at Capital One, she has been focusing on Agile and Kanban delivery methods. As the Treasurer for the organization, she monitors and tracks the finances.
Director of Communications: James Heron, CSM, CTFL, CSSGB
Jim has over 25 years of experience in systems development and software engineering across a wide range of applications across the defense, industrial and financial industries. He is currently Director of Operations Technology for QA-Testing at Genworth Financial. He is a student of project methodologies and process improvement and continues to grow his knowledge of Agile with a focus in the area of software quality. As Director of Communications, Jim helps to get the word out on events and training opportunities to our members and the media.
Community Liaison: Ronak Sampat
Ronak first became exposed to Agile methods while working on his Master's Degree in The Management of Information Technology at The University of Virginia. Ronak has 6 years of experience working on Business Intelligence projects and is eager to expand his knowledge of Agile methodology. As Community Liaison for Agile Richmond, Ronak works to increase exposure to Agile Richmond and gain further collaboration between Richmond area user groups.
PMI Liaison: Robert Mead, PMP, CSM
Bob's completed his first Agile XP project while working for IBM Global Services in 2001. He began practicing Agile Scrum in 2006 working for a major financial institution as part of their web content management team and he has recently introduced Agile to a large healthcare non-profit organization. Bob's early traditional project experience includes healthcare consulting for a Big 6 firm, international healthcare software product management, and Y2K remediation for a state government agency. As PMI Liaison, Bob works to facilitate communications, coordinate mutually-beneficial meetings and events between Agile Richmond and PMI's Central Virginia Chapter.
Advisor and Immediate Past President: Roney Pate, CSM
Roney has been committed to Agile since first learning about it in 2004, becoming a Certified Scrum Master in 2005. After coaching and mentoring as a consultant to Capital One in 2005 and 2006, Roney joined Apex Systems Inc where he has continued to apply Scrum principles to the continuous improvement of Business Intelligence. As Advisor and Past President, Roney assists Agile Richmond maintain commitment to its mission.
Board Member: Jay Harter
Jay has over 15 years of project management experience in IT and Finance. Jay is continuing to expand his knowledge on the Agile methodology and how he can apply it to his current and upcoming projects at Genworth Financial.
Board Member: Ashish Roy, PMP, CSM
Ashish is a highly experienced Project Management consultant with more than 20 years of experience in IT and Banking Operations areas in the US and abroad. Ashish, who is both PMI and CSM certified, uses his education in Computer Science and Engineering to creatively blend traditional Project Management methodologies with the Agile best practices for his clients at CapitalOne.
Coach and Board Member at Large: Lyssa Adkins, CSC, CST, PMP, SSGB, Co-Active Coach and Leader
Since 2004, Lyssa has taught Scrum to hundreds of students, coached many Agile teams, and served as master coach to many apprentice coaches. Prior to Agile, Lyssa had more than fifteen years of expertise leading project teams and groups of project managers (even as a PMO Director - twice!). In 2010, Lyssa authored Coaching Agile Teams: A Companion for ScrumMasters, Agile Coaches, and Project Managers in Transition. As an accomplished author and Agile Coach, Lyssa's extensive work in Agile outside the Richmond community gives her a unique ability to help Agile Richmond stay informed on the thought evolution and direction of Agile.
